Being to Being project update and thank you
Hope you all are taking care.
I wanted to write a little update to give you a sense of what I’ve been working on for the Being to Being project. Over last few weeks, I have been planning and organizing podcast conversations with the first series of folks I’ll be sitting down with this year and I’m excited to share that I’ll be traveling to record the first couple episodes next week.
In a time where it is so easy to jump on our computers and record a podcast online, I’ve felt inspired to slow down and create this podcast with the intention of truly being together, making the extra effort to meet people in person and in a natural setting. I’ve been asking guests of the podcast to meet in a place in nature they feel connected to, off the beaten path, where we can sit together under a tree.
I’m realizing that by choosing to film in person and in nature, our faces won’t be peering into screens to find each other as they often do—rather, we will be facing each other with nothing in between us, and the camera screen will be there as a witness instead of the focus. It already feels like this aspect of simply choosing to meet each other’s bodies in natural spaces that we feel connected to is revealing its own conversation. A conversation I’m interested in listening to along the way.
As I previously shared, another aspect of the project is organizing informal gatherings to simply be with one another. I would love to find organic ways to collaborate with you all on this this as well — I’ll be traveling through the San Francisco Bay Area in California in June, if you are going to be in the area and are interested in helping to organize a meet up let me know. You can email me at sarahwalkerting@gmail.com.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far—it’s been so sweet to receive your guest ideas, your feedback and insights, and your donations/subscriptions that support the project. For those who want a little refresher on what the project vision is and how to connect and support, here’s a previous Substack post with a brief overview:
Being to Being Project (call for support and collaborators!)
Today I’m sharing a vision I have for the Being to Being project—a vision of us as a collective, as a greater community, coming together being to being. On the same ground of our being, the same ground of our humanity. Being with each other. Being witness to each other. Not needing to do anything for each other, but simply being with each other. Reclaim…
Love,
Sarah
